Partner Congress held in Kumarkhali

The Partner Congress was held in Kumarkhali under the Program on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh (PARTNERS) program in the fiscal year 2024-25.
The Upazila Agriculture Office organized this congress in collaboration with the World Bank, UNDP and IFAD at Abul Hossain Tarun Auditorium on Wednesday at 11:00am. Sufi Md. Rafiquzzaman, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Kushtia Region, was present as the chief guest. Sheikh Sajjad Hossain, Senior Monitoring Officer of Partner, Jessore Region, was the special guest.
Upazila Agriculture Officer, Agriculturist Md. Raisul Islam, delivered the welcome speech at the program chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) S. M. Mikail Islam and moderated by Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Kawsar Hossain.
During this time, the speakers suggested using modern technology to increase agricultural production, produce nutritious food, and make farmers skilled in adapting to climate change.
In addition, it was emphasized to give importance to the expansion of new varieties, marketing of agricultural products, improving food quality, and providing sustainable support to technology and techniques, including dissemination of agricultural information among marginal farmers to ensure safe food supply.
More than a hundred stakeholders, including officials from various departments, local public representatives, representatives of non-governmental organizations, PFS and non-PFS farmers, deputy assistant agricultural officers, and journalists, participated in the program.
