People will not accept if we resort to oppression: Hafizur Rahman

Rashedul Islam
Muhammad Hafizur Rahman, a member of the Central Majlis-e-Sura of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and secretary of Narayanganj district, said that fascist Hasina was forced to flee the country after committing atrocities, torture, disappearances and murders against the people of this country. If anyone else resorts to oppression in the future, the people will not accept it. He made this statement while addressing a protest rally organized at Shaheed Manjur Stadium in Araihajar on Monday (June 16) afternoon as the chief guest. A protest rally was held in Mahmudpur of the upazila on June 14 to protest the attack on Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists. Hafizur Rahman said that for the past 17 years, the Awami fascist evil force had turned Bangladesh into their personal and family stronghold. It destroyed all institutions including law, courts, administration and the judiciary. It took away the right of people to speak. Attacking any party’s meetings, rallies, and activities after the July Revolution is a repetition of fascist behavior. We demand exemplary punishment for those who recently attacked Jamaat leaders and activists. Speaking as a special guest, Narayanganj District Jamaat Executive Committee member Professor Ilias Molla said, “Jamaat-e-Islami is a systematic and democratic party. Jamaat-e-Islami has played an impeccable role in every democratic movement in the past. Attacks on that party cannot be accepted.” The meeting was presided over by Ameer Hazrat Maulana Hadiul Islam of Araihazar Upazila South, and was also attended by Advocate Israfil Hossain, Motahar Hossain Bhuiyan, Ameer Maulana Monirul Islam of Araihazar North, and others. After the rally, a protest march started from the Araihazar Shaheed Manjur Stadium and ended at the Araihazar Payra Chattar.
