Monir Khan Tanmoy, who won a gold medal in national swimming along with a record, was felicitated in Barhatta Upazila of the district. The reception was held at 5 pm at the Barhatta Mini Football Stadium by the Barhatta Upazila Sports Association. After the reception, a friendly football match was organized. Barhata Abahani vs. Mohammedan participated in the friendly match.

Upazila Executive Officer Md. Khabirul Ahsan was present as the chief guest of the reception and friendly match. In his speech as the chief guest, he said that the Barhatta Upazila administration will always evaluate such successful people in Barhatta Upazila and will stand by them. Also present at the time were Bangladesh National Team member Papon Singh, Barhatta Upazila Jubo Dal joint convener Mushfiqur Rahman Sumon, Barhatta Upazila JASAS convener Azizul Haque Faruk, Senior Joint Convener Mokhlesur Rahman Hira and numerous sports lovers of the upazila.

It is worth mentioning that Monir Khan Tanmoy, a talented child of Barhatta Upazila, won the gold medal with the first place for Bangladesh and a national record (55.21 seconds) in the 100-meter freestyle category in the national age-based (18-20 years) swimming competition.
