The arrested Saiful Islam is the son of Muslim Uddin of Kewarashi village in Baosi union of Barhatta upazila.

Netrokona Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kazi Shah Newaz said that labor leader Saiful Islam was arrested as he was the named accused in the 2nd complaint in the case of attack, vandalism and conspiracy against the Netrokona district BNP party office in 2023. To uncover who was involved in the sabotage and the real mystery of the incident, the arrested Saiful was presented in court on Friday afternoon and a 7-day remand application was filed.

It is noteworthy that Saiful Islam has become a candidate for the post of General Secretary of the Netrokona District Motor Vehicle Employees’ Union in the triennial election on June 20, 2025. Previously, he was the General Secretary of the Netrokona District Motor Vehicle Employees’ Union.
