Residents express satisfaction over quick removal of sacrificial animal waste in Gopalganj

The municipal authorities and district administration are receiving praise from the residents for quickly removing the waste of sacrificial animals in the Gopalganj municipal area.
On Saturday (June 7), the first day of the holy Eid, Sunday the second day of Eid, and Monday the third day of Eid, devout Muslims in various places in 15 wards of the Gopalganj municipal area slaughtered thousands of cows and goats according to religious rules and regulations in the hope of gaining the pleasure of Allah Almighty.
Meanwhile, the main Eid congregation was held at 7:30 am on Saturday at the central municipal Eidgah ground organized by the Gopalganj Municipality.
Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate (Joint Secretary) Muhammad Kamruzzaman, District Police Superintendent Md. Mizanur Rahman and thousands of devout Muslims offered Eid prayers in large congregations and then returned home to sacrifice their beloved animals in the hope of gaining the pleasure of Allah Almighty.
In order to ensure that the blood, dung and waste of the sacrificial animals do not spread diseases, germs and bad smell under any circumstances and that the roads and surrounding areas of the city are kept clean, the municipality, under the guidance of the Gopalganj District Administrator and under the overall supervision of the Municipal Administrator, has conducted extensive publicity and distributed hand leaflets through miking to make the residents aware. In addition, officials of the Gopalganj District Civil Surgeon’s Office, LGED, Roads and Highways, Agricultural Extension Department, Islamic Foundation and other related departments provided special hands-on training to all the cleaning workers (male and female) employed as cleaning workers in the municipality, which is the first time in the history of the municipality.
The sanitation workers, having received modern and up-to-date training, have been able to remove the sacrificial waste in the fastest time and manage the collected waste at specific locations. The waste and garbage from various places have been removed and the bleaching powder provided by the municipality has been used to destroy the germs.
In this regard, our representative KM Saifur Rahman visited various places in the municipality including Manohar/Saudagar Patti, SM Model School area, Moulvipara, Miapara, Bedgram, BSCIC Industrial City, Power House Road area from the afternoon of the holy Eid-ul-Azha and talked to the local residents of the area and asked about the waste removal and management after Eid-ul-Azha by the Gopalganj Municipality.
