On Sunday (June 8) at around 9 pm in Sadar Upazila, there have been allegations of attack, vandalism and looting at the house of Zubayer member in Mashua village of Kegati Union (Kaliara Gabragati) of the district headquarters. On the other hand, a complaint of attack and beating has been filed against several people including Zubayer member by the accused.

On Monday (June 9) afternoon, Josna Begum, mother of Jubayer Hossain Beg, UP member of Ward No. 4 of Kegati Union, said that on Sunday night, 50/60 people led by Abdul Quddus and Islam Kha, residents of Mashua village, including Mobarak Hossain, Russell Mia, Shahin, Sadek, and others suddenly attacked their residence. During this time, the attackers vandalized the furniture inside the house, took away jewelry and money. Josna Begum claimed that they even took away several hundred maunds of paddy and some equipment from another warehouse.

However, Abdul Quddus and Islam Kha are claiming that some people including Zubair members attacked Abdul Quddus and Babul Mia. They are currently undergoing treatment at Netrokona Sadar Hospital in the wake of the attack. Netrokona Model Police Station has even arrested one person in connection with the attack on them, said Champak Dam, officer-in-charge of Netrokona Model Police Station.

When asked about this, OC (Officer-in-Charge) Champak Dam said, “We have arrested one person after receiving a written complaint about the attack on Abdul Quddus. We have heard about the vandalism at Zubair Member’s house, but we have not received any written complaint in this regard yet.”
