Chittagong City Corporation Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain offered Eid prayers at the main Eid congregation of the holy Eid-ul-Azha at 7:30 am today at Jamiatul Falah Maidan in Chittagong City. The congregation was led by Khatib Syed Alauddin Abu Taleb Mohammad Alauddin Al Qaderi of Jamiatul Falah Mosque.

A large number of religious devotees, including leaders of various political parties and senior officials of the administration, participated in the Eid congregation. After the prayer, Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain hugged and exchanged greetings with the general devotees.

After the prayer, the Mayor inspected the Qurbani activities and the activities of the CCC Cleanliness Department in different areas of the city. He said, “Inspired by the teachings of sacrifice, everyone should take responsibility from their respective positions to make Chittagong a ‘Clean-Green-Healthy-Safe City’. We should cooperate with the City Corporation by dumping the sacrificial waste at the designated place. We want to make the entire Chittagong city waste-free by 5 pm today.”

He further said that the cleanliness activities are being monitored through the Dampara Control Room since morning and from 2:30 pm  field work will be taken out to complete the cleanliness activities in the entire city.

Mayor sought the cooperation of the city residents so that it is possible to keep the city completely clean within the stipulated time.
