”Manob Sheba” Revolutionizes Rural Healthcare in Bangladesh with Innovative Telemedicine Platform

Md Hassan
A team of young Bangladeshi entrepreneurs is set to transform healthcare accessibility in rural areas with “Manob Sheba,” an innovative online real-time healthcare solutions platform. Addressing the critical issues of limited access to quality healthcare and a shortage of specialized doctors outside urban centers, Manob Sheba aims to connect rural populations with experienced medical professionals and diagnostic services. The initiative has garnered significant support, securing a spot in the Early-stage Startup Accelerator program under the Digital Entrepreneurship & Innovation Ecosystem Development (DEIED) project, funded by the ICT Ministry of the Bangladesh government and the World Bank.
Manob Sheba’s solution revolves around a multi-pronged approach to deliver cost-effective and time-saving care. The platform will leverage a “Diagnostic Center Agent Point” (DCAP) model, where local agents in rural areas are equipped with devices for basic diagnostics, internet access, and telemedicine links. This allows for instant medical report uploads and real-time diagnoses by specialist doctors. The platform also plans to offer remote consultations with national doctors through its Specialist Doctors Network. The problem statement highlights that 68% of Bangladesh’s total population resides in rural areas, often deprived of proper medical treatment due to a scarcity of experienced doctors and diagnostic centers. Manob Sheba directly addresses this challenge by enabling rural individuals to easily consult doctors and obtain diagnoses in real-time using the “Manob Sheba” app.
The founding team behind Manob Sheba comprises a group of talented individuals: MD. JOBAER HOSSAIN BHUIYA – Founder & CEO, holding BBA & MBA from IU, with two years of experience in business development, strategic planning, and partnership building. Manob Sheba has outlined an ambitious growth plan, including a pilot phase in Q3-Q4 2025, targeting 15 Upazilas across Dhaka, Khulna, Chittagong, Rajshahi, and Barishal, with an aim to serve over 3,600 patients. The company is currently seeking pre-seed funding of $400,000 to fuel its technology development, DCAP setup, operations, and marketing efforts.
