Two ships have got stuck on the Anwara coast under the waters of Chittagong Port. The two ships are Mermaid-3 and Navimar-3. Out of these, Mermaid-3 is a barge, Navimar-3 is being brought and taken with the help of tugboat.

About two years ago, large stones were brought from India by this barge for the construction of SS Power Plant in Banshkhali, Chittagong. At that time, fuel was supplied to the Navimar-3 tugboat, but the owner of the tugboat did not pay any bill. Again, the local representative of the two ships, Vision Shipping Company, has also not received any bill. At least five cases have been filed in this regard. As the case was not settled, the two vessels remained anchored in the waters of Chittagong Port.

An official of Vision Shipping Company said, “The owner of the vessel is not responding. Even though we have not received any bill, we are constantly providing four watchmen or guards to the two vessels.”

Miskatur Rahman, a watchman on the vessel, said, “The two vessels lost control in the face of strong waves in the sea and got stranded on the coast.”

Meanwhile, two vessels were stranded on the Patenga coast of Chittagong due to similar gusty winds last night. The two vessels are MV Al-Herem and BLPG Sufia.
