Illegal structures demolished in Louhjang

Illegal structures adjacent to the Louhajang Upazila Land Office in Munshiganj have been demolished. Assistant Commissioner Land Md. Abdullah Al Imran conducted the eviction drive on the orders of Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Nesar Uddin on Thursday. During this time, 30 illegally occupied shops and establishments were demolished with bulldozers. 53 percent of government land has been recovered, with a market value of about 10 crore taka. The Louhajang Police Station and Upazila Ansar VDP assisted during the eviction operation. Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Nesar Uddin said that for a long time, a class of people have been illegally occupying government land and constructing structures. Illegally occupied shops and houses have been evicted. There is a desire to build an Eidgah here. He also said that 53 percent of government land was freed from encroachment during the operation, with an estimated value of Tk 10 crore. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Abdullah Al Imran said that regular operations will continue to recover illegally occupied land.
