Cow Bakna calves have been distributed among 16 registered fishermen in Kumarkhali Upazila of Kushtia for the purpose of alternative employment. On Tuesday afternoon, the Upazila Fisheries Department organized the distribution of these Bakna calves among fishermen under the Hilsa Resource Development and Management Project for the fiscal year 2024-2025 at the Upazila Parishad premises. Upazila Executive Officer SM Mikhail Islam handed over these calves to the fishermen as the chief guest. Kumarkhali Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Mahmudul Hasan presided over the function, and various levels of officials of the concerned departments and beneficiary fishermen were present.
