Employees of various ministries and departments are protesting for the third consecutive day against the approval of the Government Jobs (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025. Addressing the protesters, National Citizens Party (NCP) Southern Region Chief Organizer Hasnat Abdullah said, “During the July coup, you supported Sheikh Hasina by wearing black badges. Now you are threatening to not let the office function. Before August 5, you pointed fingers at Sheikh Hasina and questioned her authority, but none of you resigned.”

The NCP’s road show program in Chittagong North district began on Monday morning. Before the program began, Hasnat Abdullah spoke to reporters at Biplob Udyan in Gate No. 2 area of ​​Chittagong city at 12:30 pm. At that time, a journalist wanted to know his comments on the protest at the Secretariat. In response, Hasnat told the protesters, “If the fascist Awami League government had survived, you would have stepped down and taken up your job. So, if you stand in front of the people in Bangladesh after August 5 and threaten this government and obstruct the reform process, remember that the people will find an alternative for you.”

Hasnat asked, “Did any secretary, bureaucrat or official resign before August 5? Did even one resign? When citizens were being shot dead in the streets, was there any news of a secretary or bureaucrat resigning? But after this government’s activities began, they are becoming obstacles instead of cooperating.”

Hasnat Abdullah commented that the situation would not improve if the government was held hostage. He said, “There are millions of Hasnat Abdullahs in Bangladesh. If this Hasnat Abdullah is alive, if there is an obstacle to this reform process, it will be prevented with a strong hand, along with the people. Don’t think that you have no alternative. The people will find an alternative. So cooperate with the government. Cooperate with the reform process. “If you have any criticisms about the reform process, discuss it yourself and resolve it. If you hold the government hostage, the situation will not be good.”
