Discussion meeting on various steps taken by CMP around Eid-ul-Adha

On the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Adha-2025 AD, CMP held a security coordination meeting to prevent the purchase and sale of cattle, the purchase and sale of skins and transportation, the use of counterfeit notes and to maintain overall law and order at the livestock market.
Today May 26, at 11:00 am, a “Security Coordination Meeting” was held at the conference room of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police in Dampara to keep the overall security situation of the city fair, safe and orderly. The meeting was presided over by CMP Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Md. Humayun Kabir.
During this time, he discussed with various parties concerned about the purchase and sale of cattle, the purchase and sale of skins and transportation, the use of counterfeit notes and to maintain overall law and order at the livestock market.
He also informed everyone about the various steps and decisions taken by the Chittagong Metropolitan Police to ensure security.
The steps and decisions taken are:-
1. Take necessary measures to stop all types of extortion and murder centered around the sacrificial animal market.
2. Increase intelligence surveillance to prevent any rumors or any other artificial crisis of sacrificial animals from being created.
3. Prepare a list in advance and take necessary legal measures against extortion in animal-carrying vehicles, terrorists, pickpockets at the animal market, malam parties, gamcha parties, devil’s breath parties, spit parties, etc.
4. Ensure the safety of the lessees and animal sellers of permanent and temporary animal markets in the metropolitan area.
5. Install counterfeit note detection machines in important animal markets approved by CCC.
6. Install CCTV cameras and use drones to ensure security by the lessees centered around the animal market.
7. Be proactive in preventing unauthorized and illegal encroachment on roads around the animal market.
8. Be proactive in preventing illegal parking of vehicles around the animal market.
9. Coordinate with the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and Citizens Forum leaders to prevent an artificial crisis at the animal market and increase animal prices.
10. Keep a watchful eye on any area where syndicates are formed to prevent the purchase and sale of sacrificial skins.

The coordination meeting was attended by CMP’s West Division Deputy Police Commissioner Hossain Mohammad Kabir Bhuiyan (promoted to the post of Additional DIG), senior officials of CMP, representatives of the district administration, Chittagong City Corporation, RAB-7, DGFI, NSI, Civil Surgeon, Fire Service and Civil Defense, WASA, Bangladesh Bank, and District Animal Resources Department.
