Birth anniversaries of world poet Rabindranath Tagore and national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam celebrated in Gopalganj

The 164th birth anniversary of world poet Rabindranath Tagore and the 126th birth anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam were celebrated on Sunday (May 25) at the District Shilpakala Academy through various events at the initiative of the Gopalganj district administration. An exceptional event was celebrated in the auditorium of the Gopalganj District Shilpakala Academy. Discussions and interesting cultural programs were presented on this occasion. Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate (Joint Secretary) Muhammad Kamruzzaman spoke as the chief guest at the discussion meeting. The discussion meeting, moderated by Gopalganj Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Golam Kabir, was addressed as special guests by District Police Superintendent Md. Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary) of Gopalganj Local Government Department Bishwajit Kumar Pal, Executive Officer of District Council Amit Deb Nath, Executive Engineer of District Public Works Department Swarnendu Shekhar Mandal, Assistant Professor of Bangla Department of Gopalganj University of Science and Technology Sanjida Haque Mishu, Assistant Professor of Government Bangabandhu College Mahamud Ali Khondaker. The cover of the ‘Halkhata’ magazine of Gopalganj District Shilpakala Academy was unveiled by all the guests present on the stage, which is published every year on the occasion of Bengali New Year. The program included cultural programs by various organizations including Gopalganj District Shilpakala Academy, Udichi Shilpi Group Gopalganj District Sangsad, Bangladesh Shishu Academy Gopalganj, National Rabindra Sangeet Sammilan Parishad Gopalganj Branch, and the play ‘Dak Ghar’ by World Poet Rabindranath Tagore and ‘Lichu Chor’ by National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam by the District Shilpakala Academy, directed by Mahfuz Ripon, the drama instructor of the District Shilpakala Academy. The program was hosted by Pratima Hira Toma and Shahnaz Parveen Shilu. The program was a total success thanks to the hard work of Farhan Kabir Sifat, the Cultural Officer of Gopalganj District Shilpakala Academy, who is a renowned vocalist, lyricist, composer, musician, presenter and an unparalleled example of multifaceted talent.
