The court here in Joypurhat has banned 18 AL leaders, including former whip of the fallen AL government Abu Sayeed and Mahmud Swapan, former MP Adv Shamsul Alam Dudu, from leaving the country.
On the evening of May 24, the case’s IO and DB Police SI Jahangir Alam and PP Adv Shahnur Rahman Shahin confirmed the matter to journalists. According to the court, during the anti-discrimination student movement in Joypurhat, the officer investigating the murder of college student Nazibul Sarkar Bishal, Mehdi and several cases of attempted murder and explosives law, applied to the court. In view of that application, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Faruk Hossain ordered a ban on the departure of the top 18 AL leaders.

Minnur Hossain (Panchbibi Swechchhasebak League President) 8. Mozaffar Hossain (Union AL President) 9. Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Chandan (senior joint secretary, district AL) 10. Golam Mahfuz Chowdhury Abasar (joint general secretary, district AL) 11. Minfuzur Rahman Milon (President, Kalai Upazila AL and former Upazila Chairman) 12. Anwaruzzaman Talukder Nadim (Former UP Chairman) 13. SM Rabiul Alam Chowdhury (Former UP Chairman, Panchbibi) 14. Russell Dewan Milon (President, District Jubo League) 15. Jahangir Hossain, the investigating officer of the case, said that in the interest of investigating the case, an application was made seeking a ban on the departure of the 18 leaders of AL, Jubo League and Chhatra League in several cases including the murder of Bishal and Mehdi, attempt to murder and explosives. The court ordered a ban on the departure of the top 18 AL leaders.
