The elected government should take decisions on issues like corridors and ports. If the interim government wants to make a decision, it needs to take the opinions of all political parties.

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has also said that Jamaat will support anything that goes against the country’s interests.

The Jamaat Ameer made these remarks after exchanging views with tea workers in Kulaura, Moulvibazar on Sunday afternoon (May 25).
The meeting, chaired by Upazila Jamaat Ameer and Assistant Professor Abdul Muntazim, was also attended by Central Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, Sylhet Metropolitan Ameer Md. Fakhrul Islam, District Jamaat Ameer Engineer M. Sayed Ali, Secretary Principal Yamir Ali, former Upazila Jamaat Ameer Khandaker Abdus Sobhan, Lecturer Hamid Khan, current Secretary Belal Ahmed Chowdhury and District Chhatra Shibir President Md. Nizam Uddin, among others.
He also said that Jamaat-e-Islami wants a transparent and fair election within the deadline given by the chief advisor, December 26.

Regarding improving the living standards of tea workers and establishing civil rights, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “Every citizen of the country will get equal rights.”

The basic rights of tea workers have not yet been ensured. The government must take responsibility for them. If we get the responsibility through the people’s vote, they will be ensured a dignified life and their children will be helped to develop their talents.
