A day-long farm training workshop titled “Cattle and poultry care and farm management during severe heat waves and summer” was held in Gopalganj under the initiative of the District Livestock Department. Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate (Joint Secretary) Muhammad Kamruzzaman was present as the main discussant at the training workshop organized by the Gopalganj District Animal Resources Department on Saturday (May 24) at 10 am.

The day-long workshop, chaired by Gopalganj District Animal Resources Officer Dr. Gobinda Chandra Sardar, was attended by District Veterinary Officer Dr. ASM Abdur Razzak, Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Executive Officer M Rakibul Hasan, Sadar Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Prabhas Chandra Sen, Upazila Veterinary Officer Dr. Priyanka Rani Modak and other officers and employees of the department.

25 marginal farmers from the district participated in the day-long training workshop. Marginal farmers face huge financial losses every year due to the sudden death of livestock during severe heat waves due to carelessness. Therefore, the trainees who participated in the training workshop were given hands-on training on how to take care of livestock and poultry during heat waves and summers, and farm management. In addition, all marginal farmers who are fattening their cattle and goats in anticipation of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Adha are advised to take extra care and caution with their animals and birds in this intense heat.
