Human chain formed to protest terrorist attack on journalist in Netrakona

Media worker Mohiuddin Talukder was attacked by terrorists while he was collecting information about illegal sand mining from Dhanarkhal in Dhalakanda village of K-Gati union in Sadar upazila of the district.
A human chain program was held at the Central Shaheed Minar premises on Friday at 11 am in protest and demanding punishment. Journalist Md. Shamim Talukder, president of Bangladesh Press Club Mymensingh Divisional Committee, presided over the human chain program organized by Bangladesh Press Club Netrokona District Branch. Journalists Md. Monayem Khan, Kazi Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Jewel, journalist Asaduzzaman Talukder, lecturer and journalist Bijoy Das, poet Shamsuddoha Farid, Ed. Zahirul Islam Rana, journalist Tanjila Akhter Ruby, poet Durjoy Sheikh, poet and journalist Abdus Samad, journalist Md. Manik Mia, and journalist Md. Obaidul Islam Sagar spoke at the human chain. The human chain program was conducted by lecturer and journalist Sumon Ahmed, convener of Bangladesh Press Club Barhatta Upazila branch, in the presence of dignitaries and journalists. It is noteworthy that journalist Mohiuddin Talukder, who was the victim of torture and attack, is undergoing treatment at Netrokona District Sadar Hospital and a complaint has been filed at Netrokona Model Police Station in this incident.
