A press briefing was held in Gopalganj on the occasion of the upcoming Bhoomi Mela-2025.

The press briefing organized by the Gopalganj District Administration was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room “Swachhta” at 10:30 am on Thursday (May 22) and was presided over by Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate (Joint Secretary) Muhammad Kamruzzaman.

The press briefing, moderated by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) SM Tarek Sultan, was attended by Sadar Upazila Executive Officer M. Rakibul Hasan, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Babli Shabnam, Assistant Commissioner Shahriar Ahmed and media personnel working in various print and electronic media in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner said in his speech that a land fair will be held simultaneously in five upazilas of Gopalganj from May 25 to May 27 (3 days). On the occasion of the upcoming land fair-2025, a colorful procession will be taken out from in front of the district administration building at 10 am on May 25, followed by a discussion meeting and temporary stalls will be set up in the office premises of the five upazila (land) assistant officers of the district. Through this fair, people will be informed about various digital services including e-registration, online land development tax, receipt of Khatian and map.

He also said that strict measures will be taken to make the land office free of brokers and, if necessary, the names and photos of brokers will be published.

He also expressed hope that the land fair will play an effective role in simplifying land services and increasing public awareness.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner (Joint Secretary) Muhammad Kamruzzaman handed over financial checks to the beneficiaries of the 2024-25 fiscal year by the Gopalganj District Social Welfare Council.

Harun-ur-Rashid, Deputy Director of the District Social Services Office, along with other officials and beneficiaries were present at the time.
