The project expired on March 3. Although it was supposed to be completed in one and a half years, the work on the paved bridge adjacent to Hat Naopara Bazar in Baulatoli Union of Louhajang Upazila has not yet been completed. Only 70 percent of the work has been completed in this long period. People on both sides of the bridge and market traders are angry about this. The project cost has been estimated at 41.67 crore taka. Contractor Md. Nayeb Ali Khan had said that the work will be completed by next June after resolving all the complications. He cited the lack of monsoon water and labor as the reasons for not completing the work on time. Then there is the rise in the prices of goods. Businessmen on both sides of the market say that they are losing several crores of taka every year by building bridges instead of bypass roads. Especially during the potato season, Udayan Cold Storage and Naopara Cold Storage are facing losses of crores of taka. Traders in Napara Bazaar requested that the bridge be constructed as soon as possible. According to the work order for the construction of a 46.00 m long RCC girder bridge over the Puraganga Canal on the Dighali (Mali) Naopara Kusumpur Road under Louhajang Upazila of Munshiganj district, the work is scheduled to be completed on March 3, 2025, but 30 percent of the work is still pending. Rezaul Islam, Chief Engineer of Louhajang Upazila, said that the work is progressing at a rapid pace. The work will be completed very soon.
