Senior Judicial Magistrate Md. Haider Ali’s court rejected the bail application on Wednesday (May 21) afternoon. Ivy was not produced in court during the hearing. Confirming the matter, Court Police Inspector Md. In addition, the police had applied for a 7-day remand in the Siddhirganj Minarul Islam murder case. The court has fixed the hearing date for a later date. Meanwhile, tension spread throughout the area when local residents and her activists took to the streets after hearing the news of Ivy’s arrest. At that time, Awami League leaders and activists and Ivy’s supporters blocked the two roads leading to Ivy’s house by throwing bamboo poles, wheelbarrows, and vans. They made an announcement over the loudspeaker of a nearby mosque, urging everyone to head towards Ivy’s house. Early Friday morning (May 9), Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy was arrested by the police. Later, on the way, the convoy carrying him was attacked by BNP leaders and activists. Later, she was arrested and sent to Kashimpur Women’s Central Jail in Gazipur for the murder of Siddhirganj garment worker Minarul Islam during the student movement against discrimination.
