Inauguration of Boro paddy harvesting in Kumarkhali, Kushtia through combined harvester

The formal inauguration of the Boro paddy harvesting of the simultaneous block exhibition through combine harvester has been held in Kumarkhali Upazila of Kushtia.
On Tuesday (May 20), at 11:00 am, the harvesting of paddy using combine harvester was inaugurated by harvesting Ufasi variety (Bridhan-92) in the paddy field in Bakhai village of the upazila with the cooperation of Kumarkhali Agricultural Extension Department.
The chief guest, Sufi Md. Rafiquzzaman, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Khamarbari, Kushtia, inaugurated this paddy harvesting under the chairmanship of Kumarkhali Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) SM Mikhail Islam.
At the time, he said that if mechanization spreads in agriculture, it will be possible to increase crop production at low cost. This will require less labor and time. Especially during paddy harvesting and threshing, the shortage of workers can be eliminated. Farmers should be made aware of the need to increase the use of machinery in agricultural work.
Upazila Agriculture Officer, Agriculturist Md. Raisul Islam, in his welcome speech, said that although a target was set for planting Boro paddy in the upazila this season, Boro paddy has been cultivated on more land than the target. Due to less diseases and no natural disasters in the upazila, there has been a bumper harvest of Boro paddy in all parts of the upazila this time.
Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) SM Mikhail Islam, the president of the program, said that the formal inauguration of paddy harvesting through combine harvesters was organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension today to motivate farmers to increase the use of machinery in agriculture.
Farmers, deputy assistant agricultural officers and agricultural entrepreneurs were present as special guests at the inauguration ceremony.
