PPP Authority Organizes Two-Day Basic Training Program to Strengthen Public Sector Capacity

The Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) has successfully organized a two-day basic training program aimed at enhancing institutional understanding of PPP frameworks among key stakeholders from various government ministries and divisions.
The closing session was graced by the Chief Guest, Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, Secretary and CEO of the PPP Authority. The session was chaired by A K M Abul Kalam Azad, Director General of the PPPA.
In his closing remarks, the CEO emphasized the critical importance of PPP knowledge and capacity building at this juncture in Bangladesh’s development journey. He underlined how effective PPP implementation can expedite infrastructure delivery, ensure value for public money and bring innovation through private sector engagement. The training, he noted, comes at a pivotal time as the government seeks to accelerate national development through sustainable and well-structured partnerships.
Participants in the training represented a wide range of government agencies and ministries, including the Ministry of Finance, Medical Education & Family Welfare Division, Post & Telecommunication Division, Ministry of Textiles & Jute, Roads & Highways Department, Health Services Division, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), Directorate General of Health Services, Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Department of Environment, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME), Bangladesh Forest Department, and Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA).
The training program is a part of PPPA’s broader strategy to build PPP awareness and capacity across the public sector. It also reinforces the Authority’s ongoing branding efforts to position PPP as a cornerstone for sustainable development and efficient public service delivery in Bangladesh.
