On May 17, journalists from various print, electronic and online media spoke at the Chittagong Metropolitan Jamaat-e-Islami exchange of views with journalists at the July Revolution Memorial Hall of the Chittagong Press Club.

At one stage of the speech.
A veteran journalist informed D. Yunus as the King of Plato’s Ideal Kingdom of Bangladesh.

Chittagong Jamaat-e-Islami General Secretary Dr. AKM Fazlul Haque said — The past dictatorial government looted money in the name of projects, disappearances, murders, anarchy, foreign colonial rule. We have got freedom from these. We have tasted independence for the second time in the student movement. The overall situation of the country has been changed by killing smart army officers. Reforms by building national unity are very important. He addressed the journalists, “You should write clearly against the enemies of the nation’s conscience.”

Shamsuzzaman Helali said — The most persecuted party during the previous government was Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, the world-renowned scholar Allama Saidi was systematically killed in prison for carrying out an Islamic movement. This fascist government tortured not only here but also inside the prison.

In the past fifteen years, the most notorious defendants were given to our room. But at the end of the day, they changed their lives by talking and moving in our activities. He also said that our unity cannot be destroyed in any way. This leader urged journalist Mustafa Naeem to enter politics.

Nurul Amin of Jamaat said — It is unfortunate but true that national unity has not been formed on fundamental issues. There will be different programs of different parties but everyone should be united on issues. He gave an example of a quote by AK Fazlul Haque and said, “What did I do?” His reaction will come from the other side “If they cheer, they will understand that I have stabbed you in the foot and if I slander you, they will think that something is happening for your good”. He said that we, Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, want to establish a discrimination-free, welfare-oriented, corruption-free state in the future.

Metropolitan Journalists Union President Shahnewaz said— “We are white colour labour, today you are the friend someone after that you will be an enemy of others party If you left his side”. He added the history of embedded journalism. He said we not broker any of political party. The job of a journalist is to show the nation the way, he also said that the history of Awami League is the same as the history of Laxman-Sen. This veteran journalist wants to know the answer to why you should not ban Awami League for the July murder.
All these talks of one thing in the morning and one thing in the afternoon should be eliminated. We demand that whoever has committed the crime should be punished to the extent possible. He also said that “we will decide who will be a guerrilla fighter and who will be a front-line fighter”.

Chittagong Jamaat Ameer Shahjan Chowdhury said — What should be the role of journalists has been made clear in the speeches of previous speakers, there is nothing new to say. According to the United Nations, 150 million people took to the streets on the afternoon of August 5. We want to unite all people against corruption. We have no objection to taking the port to the top of technology at the local level. But not by giving away sovereignty. This veteran popular leader also commented that there is no alternative to national unity to keep the sovereignty of the country strong. Next we have a challenge for job sector that means reduce unemployment, we want to face it.

Chittagong Press Club Member Secretary Jahidul Karim Kochi gave the last speech He said that I have seen both wars, but the joy I saw on July 36, 2024 was not seen in 1971.
