After 11 years, the biennial conference of Atpara Upazila BNP was held in a festive atmosphere.

The Upazila BNP organized the conference at the Atpara Auditorium Hall Room at 11 am on Saturday.
Alhaj Md. Masum Chowdhury was elected as the president of the conference and Rafiqul Islam Rafiq was elected as the general secretary.

The conference was presided over by Atpara Upazila BNP convener Md. Masum Chowdhury and conducted by District BNP joint convener Moniruzzaman Dudu.

Netrakona District BNP convener Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Haque declared the inauguration of the biennial conference.

Shariful Alam, Organizing Secretary of Mymensingh Division of BNP National Executive Committee, spoke as the chief guest.
The main speaker was Co-Organizing Secretary Shah Wares Ali Mamun.
Also speaking as special guests were Mymensingh Division Co-Organizing Secretary Abu Wahab Akand, District BNP Member Secretary Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam Hilali, former MP and former District BNP President Bir Muktijoddha Ashraf Uddin Khan, Senior Joint Convener Advocate Mahfuzul Haque, former General Secretary Alhaj Abu Taher Talukder and District BNP Joint Conveners Mujibur Rahman Khan, Tajezul Islam Faras Sujat, Bazlur Rahman Pathan and others.

The council session was held in the second phase of the conference.
In this, two candidates contested for the post of President and three candidates for the post of General Secretary. A total of 497 councilors from seven unions of Atpara exercised their right to vote directly.

After the vote counting, it was announced that Masum Chowdhury was elected as President with 337 votes and Rafiqul Islam Rafiq was elected as General Secretary with 253 votes.

The conference created great enthusiasm and excitement among the leaders and activists, ending the long wait by electing new leadership.
