Husband’s flower bed with new wife, ignoring wife’s recognition

Parul Rani Roy, a mother of one, has been on a hunger strike for 4 days demanding recognition of her wife. She has been trying to achieve her demands by ignoring the storm from last Monday morning to Thursday (May 15). On one hand, Parul’s hunger strike and on the other hand, her husband is making flower bed with his new wife. The wedding is going on with great fanfare. Even then, Parul is not budging even a hair from her demand. The incident took place in Baravita UP Paschim Melabar village of Kishoreganj upazila in Nilphamari.
It is learned that Parul Rani Roy, daughter of Subal Chandra Roy of Kaimari Rather Bazar village of Jaldhaka upazila, was married to Abinash Chandra Roy, son of Dijendra Nath Roy of Baravita UP Paschim Melabar village of Kishoreganj. Abinash Chandra died a few days after Parul gave birth to a son. Bhupal Kanti Roy (27), the unmarried son of Parul’s uncle and in-laws, fell in love with the widowed Parul. A love affair developed between them. Accepting this relationship, they tied the knot. In 2022, the marriage was completed through a qazi with special conditions of 30 lakh taka in cash and a gold chain. After marriage, Parul went to Bhupal Kanti’s workplace for 3 years and started a family.
Parul Rani said that her family life was going well for 3 years. Suddenly, they had a disagreement over a trivial incident, after which Bhupal denied their marriage. Parul Rani also said, “I will not leave this place unless you accept me as your wife and take me home.”
Kishoreganj Officer-in-Charge Ashraful Islam said, “I have heard about the incident and cannot intervene as they have a case in court.
