Media workers exchange views with the Deputy Commissioner in Gopalganj

A meeting was held with the Deputy Commissioner and media workers working in various electronic and print media in the district to exchange views on the ongoing development activities in Gopalganj. The meeting, held at the Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner’s conference room “Swachhta” at 11 am on Sunday (May 11), was presided over by Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate (Joint Secretary) Muhammad Kamruzzaman. In a continuous speech lasting about an hour and a half at the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Kamruzzaman said that he was proud to serve the people of Gopalganj as a servant to determine the direction and transparency of the current interim government.
He presented various activities in the 8 months since joining as the Deputy Commissioner to the media personnel and mentioned various adversities in implementing all those ongoing activities. In particular, among the mega projects in Gopalganj, he had to speed up the implementation of the Tekerhat-Ghonapara regional road and Ghonapara-Pirojpur road improvement projects because if these projects were stopped, the travel of people in the southern region would have been disrupted. After overcoming one obstacle after another in road renovation, he was finally able to reach his desired goal with the overall cooperation of everyone. He also informed everyone present about the Tk 48 crore project undertaken to solve the problems of safe water and drainage in various wards of Gopalganj Municipality. He highlighted to the media personnel the various steps taken by the district administration to develop Gopalganj district as a modern and model district. He highlighted the plans to restore the traditional rivers of the district and prevent pollution, recover encroached river and road areas, and conduct eviction campaigns against those occupying government land in various upazilas. He also expressed plans to establish an environmentally friendly, aesthetic and artistic eco-park in Kashiani for the entertainment of all the people of Gopalganj, young and old. The design has already been created through a collaborative effort of skilled teachers and students of the Architecture Department of Gopalganj University of Science and Technology. In essence, he sought the cooperation of all concerned, including media workers, for the overall development of Gopalganj. At the end of his speech, in an open discussion, he listened carefully to the various problems being faced by media workers working in the district and provided various guidelines to the concerned to resolve them. At this time, media workers highly praised the Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate (Joint Secretary) Muhammad Kamruzzaman for making citizen services available and free from harassment in various government and private offices in the district. The event was moderated by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Golam Kabir, while Additional District Magistrate (ADM) and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) S. M. Tarek Sultan, Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Executive Officer M. Rakibul Hasan, Nezrat Deputy Collector (NDC) Ronti Poddar, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Russell Munshi, President of Press Club Gopalganj BM Zubair Hossain, and more than a hundred media workers working in various electronic and print media in the district and other officials and employees of the administration were present.
