A case has been filed against a university student who is on a hunger strike at the home of a Kuwaiti expatriate demanding marriage. On Sunday, Al Amin Biswas, the elder brother of her boyfriend Mohiuddin Biswas, filed a case with the Amtali Senior Judicial Magistrate Court, accusing the student of threatening to commit suicide. Court judge Md. Imran Hasan Ifti took cognizance of the case and ordered the Amtali Police Station OC to accept the complaint as a complaint. It is reported that Mohiuddin Biswas, son of Abdur Rahman Biswas of southwest Amtali village of the upazila, fell in love with a university student studying in the MA class on AK School Road in Amtali Municipality 16 years ago. At that time, her boyfriend Mohiuddin was in the tenth grade and her girlfriend was in the eighth grade at the same school. They have been dating for the past 16 years. The student alleges that Mohiuddin had physical relations with her several times. In 2017, her boyfriend, Mohiuddin, left for Kuwait. After going to Kuwait, the girl’s family tried to get her married several times, but her boyfriend, Mohiuddin, called off the marriage. After 8 years, he returned home from Kuwait on March 4. Since returning home, the two have had a very good relationship. Their love affair is well known to both families. Last Friday morning, the lover Mohiuddin informed his girlfriend over the phone that it was not possible to marry her. With such words, the university student sat on a hunger strike at the house of her expatriate boyfriend Mohiuddin at around 9 pm that night. On Saturday night, Mohiuddin Biswas’s mother Nasima Begum took the girl home with the promise of marrying her son. On Sunday, Mohiuddin’s elder brother, Al Amin Biswas, filed a case with the Amtali Senior Judicial Magistrate Court, accusing the student of threatening to commit suicide. The student, who is the defendant in the case, said, “Mohiuddin has wasted 16 years of my life.” My family has taken several steps to get married but Mohiuddin broke it off. Mohiuddin had physical relations with me. After all this, I learned that Mohiuddin’s elder brother, Al Amin, had filed a lawsuit against me. When contacted on the mobile phone (01719-770908) of expatriate Mohiuddin Biswas to inquire about this matter, he did not pick up the call. The plaintiff in the case, Al Amin Biswas, said, “There are talks going on about marrying that girl to my brother Mohiuddin Biswas.” Why should I file a case against him? However, he disconnected the mobile phone line without answering the question of who filed the case with your signature in the Amtali court. Md. Rezaul Karim (Reza), the plaintiff’s lawyer at the Amtali Senior Judicial Magistrate Court, said that Al Amin Biswas, the elder brother of Kuwaiti expatriate Mohiuddin Biswas, filed the case as the plaintiff, making the girl the defendant. Amtali Police Station OC Md. Ariful Islam Arif said, “We have not received any court documents in this regard. Necessary action will be taken as per the court order.”
