The previous day, Shadman Islam, speaking for the team, had said that they would be happy if they could take the lead above 100. It can be said that the achievement is much more than what Bangladesh wanted. Bangladesh took over 150 against Zimbabwe with the bat of Mehedi Hasan Miraj.

The sky was cloudy on the morning of the third day in Chittagong on Wednesday. It rained within ten minutes of the start of the game, and the game was only stopped for 18 minutes due to low levels. Apart from this, Bangladesh had a bright smile throughout the entire session. The hosts had scored 404 runs for 8 wickets until the lunch break. Bangladesh’s capital crossed 400 after 15 innings in the Test at home.

Bangladesh took a lead of 177 runs from Zimbabwe due to the responsibility of the batsmen in the end. Miraj is unbeaten on 76 runs from 109 balls. Tanjim is at the crease with 29 runs from 57 balls.

Miraj continued to lead with Taijul Islam, who scored 291 runs for 7 wickets. Even after the rain break, the two did not lose their rhythm. Zimbabwean bowlers were also unable to create any threat. Taijul returned after adding 63 runs for the 8th wicket. He was stumped by leg-spinner Vincent Mesekazar. Taijul scored 20 runs off 45 balls.

Then another partnership was formed for Bangladesh with the debutant Tanjim Hasan Shakib. The lead exceeded 150. Miraj continued to run past fifty. Tanjim, who came into the XI for batting skills as well as bowling, proved his batting ability. He not only provided company, but also continued to add runs. The partnership of these two added 62 runs off 103 balls.
