Latiful Azam, Kishoreganj (Nilphamari)

Principal Sujauddowla Lipton, Chairman of Bahagili Union Parishad of Kishoreganj Upazila of Nilphamari, has regained administrative power. He regained this administrative power on the order of the Honorable High Court.
Sources said that some UP members complained to the Deputy Commissioner and Upazila Nirbahi Officer against Bahagili UP Chairman Principal Sujauddowla Lipton, alleging lack of trust and irregularities and corruption. An investigation committee was formed by the district administration. As the investigation did not find any irregularities and corruption against the Bahagili UP Chairman, Chairman Lipton was exempted from the charges. After being exempted, those UP members did not cooperate in development-oriented activities including the VGF allocated for Eid. In view of this, the District Commissioner appointed the Upazila Social Service Officer as the administrator of this union in a letter on March 25. Aggrieved by this, the UP Chairman filed a writ petition in the Honorable High Court. After the hearing, the Honorable High Court ordered the return of financial and administrative powers to Bahagili UP Chairman Sujauddowla Lipton. On the court’s order, UP Chairman Sujauddaula Lipton resumed activities in the Union Parishad on Sunday (March 27). Meanwhile, the locals are excited and happy that he has regained administrative powers. Chairman Sujauddowla Lipton said that injustice was done to me. I got fair justice through the court.
