BNP standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed said, “The history of Awami League is a history of burying itself. Sheikh Mujib buried it once by establishing Baksal, and in 2024, his daughter Sheikh Hasina has finally buried the Awami League.”

He said these things at a rally organized by the district BNP at the Cox’s Bazar Gol Chattar ground on Monday (February 17) afternoon.

Salahuddin Ahmed said that the UN report has proven that Sheikh Hasina ordered the genocide. “She is the worst murderer in history. The Awami League has died politically, and the burial has been in Delhi,” he said.

Addressing Sheikh Hasina, he said, “It is not appropriate to talk about a dead person, she sometimes peeks from a grave in Delhi and wants to say something. It is no longer permissible to do politics in the name of Awami League in this country.”

Salahuddin Ahmed urged the chief advisor to quickly “announce the electoral roadmap” and demanded that the government take effective measures to control the prices of commodities.

He said, “No provocation by Hasina will be successful. She will not go against the people. Hasina’s cronies are still trying to create instability in the field of law and order and justice.”

Highlighting the history of BNP, he said, “BNP is the bearer of the history of establishing multi-party democracy under Shaheed Ziaur Rahman. Khaleda Zia has brought back parliamentary democracy.”

He urged the crowd present to take BNP forward in an orderly manner under the leadership of Tarique Rahman.

The public meeting held under the chairmanship of Cox’s Bazar District BNP President and former MP Shahjahan Chowdhury was also addressed by Central Fisheries Affairs Secretary and former MP Lutfur Rahman Kajal, Organizing Secretary Mahbubey Rahman Shamim, Co-Organizing Secretary Harunur Rashid, Barrister Mir Helal, Central Executive Committee Member Alamgir Farid and District Secretary Ed. Shamim Ara Swapna along with local leaders.
