Poet Hasan Hafiz receives Khalekdad Chowdhury Literary Award in Netrakona

Khalek Dad Chowdhury Literary Award The award was presented to the poet at the Khalek Dad Chowdhury Open Stage in Bakultala in the afternoon.
Poet Hasan Hafiz received the Khalekdad Chowdhury Literary Award in Netrokona for his contribution to poetry. On Friday, a day-long Basantakaleen Literary Festival was organized by the Netrokona Sahitya Samaj at Bakultala in Moktarpara, the district town. Poet Hasan Hafiz received the award at the open stage in the afternoon of the festival.
The award distribution ceremony was presided over by Sahitya Samaj President M Kibria Chowdhury Helim and moderated by General Secretary Tanvir Jahan Chowdhury.
DC Banani Biswas, District BNP Convener Dr. Anwarul Haque, Khalekdad Chowdhury’s son Haider Jahan Chowdhury, Baul Rashid Uddin Academy Chairman Retired Major Syed Abu Bakar Siddique, Professor Nani Gopal Sarkar, District BNP Joint Convener Moniruzzaman Dudu, and National Citizens Committee Central Member Fahim Rahman Khan Pathan spoke at the discussion meeting.
Since 1997, 33 people have been awarded the Khalekdad Chowdhury Literary Award for their special contributions to various branches of Bengali literature at 28 literary festivals held during the spring season.
Expressing his pride in receiving the award for poetry this time, poet Hasan Hafiz said, “Netrakona is the cradle of folk culture, including the most talented poets, writers, and artists in the country. Therefore, Netrakona should be declared the cultural capital.”
