Doublemooring Police Station OC Kazi Md. Rafiq told The Daily Morning Glory that along with Yusuf Shanto (24), two more people were arrested in the incident, one named
Hasan, the other Parvez. Both of them are children, that is, not yet 18 years of age.

He also said that, Team leaders SI Ahlad Ibne Jamil,SI Nazrul Islam, SI Shahidul Islam, ASI Kazi Saiful Islam, ASI Ahsanul Karim, ASI Atiqul Haque, ASI Abdul Hai Bablu conducted the operation based on secret information.

The first accused was arrested at around 7 pm from Chariyapara area of ​​Chowmuhani in the city. Later, as shown and identified by the arrested accused Yusuf Shanto, a locally made LG (local gun) was recovered from a specially guarded place in front of his residence at 7 pm today, February 13.

Under the overall guidance of DC of West Division of CMP Hossain Mohammad Kabir Bhuiyan, the operation was conducted under the supervision of ADC of Police (West) Md. Masud Rana & ACP of Double Mooring Zone Kazi Bidhan Abid.

During the initial interrogation, the arrested accused confessed that he had vandalized the police station and looted it from the police station’s warehouse during the anti-discrimination movement on August 5, 2024.

Legal action is underway against the arrested accused. Police said that the operation will continue.
