A human chain has been formed to protest the insult of UP members in Bahagili, Kishoreganj Upazila, Nilphamari. The human chain was held at the Upazila Parishad premises today, Tuesday at noon. Under the banner of the human chain, UP Chairman’s goons marched in front of the investigation officer demanding the removal of Ward 2 and 3 UP members from the post of chairman and trial in protest of the insult, various irregularities and corruption. UP members Swapan Rana, Khalilur Rahman Dablu, Yahia, Morad Hossain and others spoke at the event. The UP members said in their speeches – we want a trial for the insult of our UP members, as well as for irregularities and corruption. Demanding the removal of the chairman, they also said – the chairman runs the Union Parishad according to his own whims. We are not consulted either.  We want the chairman to be removed along with the trial for irregularities and corruption. In this regard, Bahagili UP Chairman Sujauddaula Lipton denied the allegations of beating the UP member and said, “None of my people beat him. These reports are false and fabricated.” Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mousumi Haque said – An investigation committee has been formed after receiving a written complaint against the UP chairman and the investigation is ongoing. Necessary measures will be taken based on the investigation.
