Under the directives of the interim government, the Bangladesh Navy has been conducting law and order and anti-terrorism operations in the areas under its responsibility under Operation Devil Hunt. During the operation, on Monday (February 10) night, it was learned through intelligence information that several terrorists were staying in the Brickfield area of ​​Kawsar Mia, opposite Haji Abul Bashar Market, College Road, Ward No. 2, Charking Union No. 6 under Hatia Police Station.

Later, a team of joint forces led by the Navy immediately reached the spot. Sensing the presence of the joint forces, the terrorists located there exploded several cocktails. Later, Md. Nabir Uddin, Md. Imam Hossain and Md. Fakhrul Islam Tipu were arrested from the spot. At that time, 01 foreign pistol (with magazine and 01 round of bullets), 03 single-barrel domestic guns, 08 cartridges, 20 cocktails, 02 daggers, 03 creases and 01 sword were recovered from them. Coast Guard and police participated in this joint operation along with the Navy. On the other hand, a terrorist named Humayun Kabir alias Babul was arrested from his own house in an operation conducted in Sandwip, Chittagong district. The arrested persons are accused of murder, robbery, drug and extortion in their respective areas.

It is to be noted that in order to implement the instructions of the current government, regular patrols and special operations will be ongoing in the areas under the responsibility of the Bangladesh Navy as part of Operation Devil Hunt under ‘In Aid to Civil Power’.
