Reporter: Shreya, what is your perspective on Valentine’s Day?
Shreya Ghosh: Love is the breath that stirs the soul, softening us, drawing out the best versions of ourselves, and filling us with the courage to dream. To me, love is not bound by romance alone; it is the beautiful presence beside someone, the strength to lift them when they falter, and the courage to let them dream again. Love resides not just in the heart, but in the ties of family, the bonds of friendship, and in the work that we do.
When I founded Shreya’s Learning Classroom during the chaos of the covid pandemic, it was love that sparked the flame within me. Thousands of children were cast adrift, deprived of their right to education, and my heart could not bear the thought of their yearning. My love was not for knowledge alone, but for the souls who longed for it but lacked the means to reach it. Love, in its purest form, is not merely a feeling, it is a responsibility. Every effort I have made, every cause I have championed, whether through education, advocacy, or collaboration with nearly 50 organizations, has been nourished by love.
Reporter: How did this love for your work develop?
Shreya Ghosh: From the beginning, learning was my sanctuary. As a child, I was a bookish soul, my brain dancing through every page. But with time, I learned that knowledge was not confined to the ink on paper; the universe itself is a boundless tome, filled with discoveries waiting to be embraced. And so, I became a seeker, a wanderer through the infinite corridors of understanding.
When the pandemic swept the world, I saw children slipping through the cracks, their futures dimming. That was when I decided to teach them whatever I could, to offer them the light I had found in my own journey. Shreya’s Learning Classroom was born not just as a virtual platform but as a sanctuary of love, a space where young minds could gather, united by the joy of learning. Over time, thousands have joined, and even today, it remains one of my greatest labors of love.
Reporter: Have you ever loved someone personally?
Shreya Ghosh: Yes, I have. I am in love with a real-life Superman, an extraordinary soul who made my nerdy soul fall deeply for his magnetic intellect, and charisma. He entered my life like a ray of light, my own sunshine, helping me dream again, reminding me that I was meant to soar.
Even for a fleeting moment, he gave me the confidence I had lost. On days when doubt clouded my mind and fatigue threatened to steal my spirit, he whispered, “I want to see your dreams unfold. I want to see you conquer the world.” How could I not love him?
Not every love story finds its happily ever after, and ours was no exception. But the strength he bestowed upon me endures within me. No one had ever inspired me the way he did, perhaps no one ever will.
Reporter: What has love taught you?
Shreya Ghosh: Love is not merely a presence beside you, it is the belief in someone, even from afar. It is the act of rooting for them, even when they do not know you are there.
When I teach my students and watch them chase their dreams, I witness the purest form of love. Love is wishing the best for someone, even when they are unaware of your support.
And to the one who once supported me, though our paths may no longer cross, I send my deepest wishes. The courage he gave me will fortify me in battles yet to come. Love is not about holding on, it is about helping someone grow into the finest version of themselves. He taught me that true success is not defined by personal victories, but by the difference we make in the lives of others. He inspired me to become a better person, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
Reporter: What is your special message for Valentine’s Day?
Shreya Ghosh: Love is not confined to relationships alone; it is the shared journey of dreams, the quiet belief in each other, and the steadfast support through life’s storms.
Love is like the first light of dawn that melts the chill of night. It is the gentle drop of dew that breathes life into a wilting leaf. Sometimes, love arrives as comfort, sometimes as strength, and at other times, as a silent prayer that shields us from harm.
Today, I love the dreams yet to be realized. I love the people who have walked with me, whether they stayed or moved on.
This Valentine’s Day, my message is simple: Love in a way that helps someone shine. Be their light, their strength, and their support. Love is the quiet promise of ‘I am here for you.’ It is the courage to help them conquer their world.
With just a touch of love and support, one soul can conquer an entire universe. So, love deeply, embrace those around you with warmth, and be a steadfast friend, like a tree, strong and enduring, always beside them.
