CMP’s Kotwali police recovered lost passport of a US couple
Kotwali Police Station recovered the lost passport of a British couple, worth three lakh taka, and necessary documents in 8 hours.
Yesterday, a British couple, Tafika Chowdhury and her husband Wasiur Rahman, accidentally left a handbag in a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in the Love Lane area of the city. They entered the bank leaving the handbag in the CNG-powered auto-rickshaw by mistake. The handbag contained their two British passports, three lakh taka in cash, a mobile phone and other necessary items. After entering the bank, they realized that the handbag was not with them. They immediately came out and saw that the auto-rickshaw was missing. They informed the police station about the loss of the handbag at around 12.00 noon. Later, on the instructions of the officer-in-charge, SI/Md. Khairul Basar Sajid recovered the handbag along with the lost passport of the British couple, three lakh taka and other items from the Baklia area of Chittagong city after a long effort of 08 (eight) hours.
The recovered bag contained two British passports, 3 (three) lakh taka in cash and a chequebook. After recovering everything intact, it was handed over to the British couple that night. The foreign couple expressed their gratitude and thanks to the Bangladesh Police including the Kotwali Police.
