Dengue outbreak increased again in Matlab North

In Chandpur, the incidence of dengue disease has increased in Matlab North Upazila. The number of dengue patients in the upazila health complex has increased in November compared to last October.

It has been found that 29 dengue patients are under treatment in the upazila health complex in the last three weeks. Some of these patients have recovered and returned home. And 5 dengue patients were referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital due to their critical condition.

According to Matlab North Upazila Health Complex, 33 dengue patients received treatment in this month of November. 29 people have received treatment in the last 21 days. 5 dengue patients were referred to Dhaka as the condition was innumerable.

Hasibur Rahman Shanto, who was suffering from dengue disease in the upazila health complex, said that they were admitted to the upazila health complex with high fever, headache and vomiting for the last 3-4 days. They can know positive after dengue test on doctor’s advice. But now they are feeling much healthier than before.

Matlab Uttar Upazila Health Complex Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. Hasibul Islam said, dengue is a mosquito-borne disease. Aedes mosquito must be killed to prevent dengue. The source of mosquitoes must be destroyed. He warned that if this is neglected, a dire situation will arise in the future.

He also said that dengue fever is backbone fever. Dengue causes severe headache, rash all over the body and fever of 103-105 degrees. But there is nothing to panic. In case of fever, only paracetamol should be taken. Do not take any medicine like aspirin. Drink plenty of water. At the same time CVC should be checked. If the platelets fall below 1 lakh then hospitalization is required.
