The resident students of Islamic University have been enjoying better meals since the 24th movement due to the absence of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) university unit leaders and activists.

Students complained that IU unit BCL leaders and activists were involved in various heinous acts, including seat trading, embezzlement of dining funds, guestroom torture, ragging, extortion, and more.

Since the 24th movement, the overall condition of the halls has improved, fostering a sense of satisfaction among the students. Because there is no longer any misuse of power by political wings. The quality of meals served in the dining halls has significantly improved.

Students reported that the quality of meals was low and dining services were under the control of BCL, who managed them as they pleased. Dining managers were frequently changed every three to five months, and no student dared to protest. However, in the absence of BCL, students can now oversee and manage the hall dining system themselves.

Many resident students stated that they get three types of meals every day for only 100-110 taka, with improved quality compared to before, all while maintaining the same price.

Shagor, a residential student, said, “The meals in the dining halls were poorly served before, and we had to rely on hotels for better food. But now, we get quality meals at reasonable costs.”
