Allowing black money to turn white means applauding corruption…

Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) has reacted angrily to the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 bringing back unethical opportunities for black money laundering.
In a statement last Thursday night on the proposed budget, the TIB strongly demanded the government to cancel the opportunity to launder black money.
Iftekharuzzaman, executive director of TIB, said that the government is encouraging corruption and acquiring illegal wealth by guaranteeing opportunities to launder black money. The government is inviting citizens to become corrupt by guaranteeing impunity.
Iftekharuzzaman thinks that the deep and widespread development of corruption and immorality is being turned into a normal matter in the lame logic of increasing revenue.
He said, this process of giving license to corruption will be stopped forever.
The TIB’s statement demanding the abolition of the facility for laundering black money said such facilities would discourage individual taxpayers from earning honest and legitimate income.
Apart from this, not allowing any authority to question the financial resources declared under it will contribute to creating an environment conducive to corruption in the country.
TIB has called upon the owners of black money to find the source of their wealth and take effective accountability measures.
