A teenager named Zakir Hossain (14) died due to lightning while plowing in Nizampur of Habiganj Sadar Upazila.

The incident took place in Daulatpur village of Nizampur union of the upazila on Monday (07 August) afternoon.

Deceased Zakir is the son of deceased Maqbul Hossain of Daulatpur village. He was working as a tractor driver’s assistant.

Locals said that Zakir Hossain was sitting on the driver’s side seat while driving in the rain on Monday afternoon. He died on the spot when lightning struck. At that time, when there was a thunderous sound, the driver of the tractor jumped and fell down, so he escaped with his life.

Confirming the truth of this incident, Habiganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ayesha Akhter said that government support will be given to the family of the deceased teenager.
