Inspector General (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said the police are ready to carry out election duties. He said this in response to reporters’ questions after distributing food items and clothes to poor and helpless families at Sunamganj Police Lines this Friday (July 7).

The IGP said, “During the election period, we perform our duties under the Election Commission. Every member of the police is committed to carry out the duties that the Election Commission will give us. The police have previous experience and ability to carry out electoral duties. We are ready to fulfill the responsibility. Appropriate action will be taken if anyone tries to disrupt law and order.

Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said, “The leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister has remained stable in eradicating militancy-terrorism and the law and order situation. Due to which there is a developmental environment in the country. Business and investment friendly environment prevails in the country and the country is moving forward. The police have the capacity, the courage and the police are ready to face any challenge.

Sylhet Range DIG Shah Mizan Shafiur Rahman, Sunamganj Deputy Commissioner Didare Alam Mohammad Maksud Chowdhury, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ehsan Shah and others were also present.
