Rainfall may continue for three more days

It is raining in all parts of the country. Some are on a long scale, some are on a short scale. This trend of rain may continue throughout the day on Tuesday, said the Met department.

The maximum temperature in the country is below 36 degree Celsius due to cloud and rain. That is, there is no heat wave anywhere in the country. However, even though the temperature is not very high, it is very hot in different parts of the country including Dhaka.

Sylhet received the highest rainfall of 125 mm in the last 24 hours from 6 am on Monday to 6 am on Tuesday. Mainly Sylhet has been receiving continuous heavy rain for the past few days. There is a threat of flooding. However, in the last 24 hours there was less rain in the central region (Dhaka division) and southwestern region (Khulna division). During this time, 3 millimeters of rain fell in Dhaka. There was no rain in Tangail, Madaripur, Faridupur and Gopalganj of Dhaka division.

On Monday, the highest temperature in the country was 35.3 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi. The maximum temperature in Dhaka was 34.7 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, the extension of western low pressure is extending from West Bengal through southern Bangladesh to North Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay of Bengal.

Meteorologist Md. highlighted the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am on Tuesday. Shahinul Islam said that there may be light to moderate rain with gusty winds in most places of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and many places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions.

Along with this, there may be moderate to very heavy rainfall at some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions. Day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country during this time.

The meteorologist also said that the trend of rainfall may continue for the next three days.

45 to 60 gusts per hour from south or south-east over Rajshahi, Kushtia, Dhaka, Faridpur, Tangail, Mymensingh, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Sylhet regions till 6 pm on Tuesday.
