President Md. Sahabuddin urged all Buddhists to work together for the welfare of the country and people.

He made this call while exchanging greetings with Buddhist leaders on the occasion of ‘Happy Buddha Purnima 2023’ at the Credential Hall of Banga Bhavan today. Khabar bus

The head of state said, ‘Show people the way of light. Will work for the welfare of the country and people.

He said, all religions of the world talk about the welfare of people. Every religion has good things. President Sahabuddin also advised to always accept what is best and reject what is inferior. Referring to ‘religion for the welfare of man, not for evil’, he said, ‘religion is for man, not man for religion.’

The president also urged to think about being good for everyone instead of just thinking about being good for yourself or your family. Referring to Mahamati Buddha as the path of humanity and liberation, he said, Buddhists are part of one of the largest religious communities in the world.

President Sahabuddin also thinks that the responsibility and duty of the people of the Buddhist community in establishing peace and harmony in this region as well as in the world is very high.

He urged the leaders of the Buddhist community to reflect the teachings of Mahamati Buddha in their own lives and encourage others to do the same.

Wishing and congratulating all the Buddhist communities of Bangladesh and the world, the President said, “Bangladesh’s soil and people are mixed with thousands of years of Buddhist tradition including ancient Buddhist monasteries.”

Md. Sahabuddin urged the leaders of the Buddhist community to spread the noble teachings and ideals of Gautam Buddha to build a happy, prosperous and peaceful Bangladesh.

The President also emphasized on inspiring everyone to live an honest and beautiful life, inspire others to do good deeds and make themselves worthy citizens of the country.

Buddha Purnima, the holiest festival of Buddhists, is being celebrated across the country today with great fervor.

On the occasion of Buddha Purnima, the President and his wife with the Buddhist community. Rebecca Sultana exchanged greetings for about an hour from 4 pm today.

During the greeting exchange ceremony, the President exchanged greetings with Buddhist religious songs and music through the sound system from the beginning to the end. Buddhist religious leaders greeted President Sahabuddin with flower bouquets.

State Minister of Religion Md. Faridul Haque Khan, MP, Upasangharaj of the Buddhist community Srimat Dharmapriya Mahathir, Secretary of Religion Kazi Enamul Hasan, former Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University of Science and Technology Dr. Prabhat Chandra Barua, President’s Office Secretary Sahad Barua, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant and Awami League Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, Buddhist Religious Welfare Trust Vice Chairman Supta Bhushan Barua and Trust Secretary Jaydatta Barua were present.

Buddhist community leaders, ambassadors, high commissioners, heads of foreign missions working in Bangladesh and more than eight hundred invited guests participated in the reception.
