In order to quell the riots in Habiganj district, an operation has been started to recover indigenous weapons. On Thursday afternoon in Ashera Fandrail village of Sadar Upazila, an argument broke out between two groups over duck eating rice. At one point, people from both sides prepared for a clash with indigenous weapons. On receiving the information, a group of policemen headed by OC Golam Mortuza of Sadar Model Police Station rushed to the spot and quelled the clash on the orders of Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ullah. A large quantity of indigenous weapons were recovered by raiding various houses. The villagers have welcomed such an immediate initiative of the police. They say that they were spared from serious casualties as the police went to the spot immediately.

OC Golam Mortuza said, on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, we immediately went to the spot and quelled the clash and after raiding the houses of the rioters for a long time, a large amount of domestic weapons, Teta, Ballam, Fickle were recovered. The campaign will continue regularly.
