BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir commented that the incident of fire in Bangabazar is mysterious.
In a press statement signed by Muhammad Munir Hossain, BNP’s co-office secretary on Tuesday, the party’s general secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep concern over the massive fire in Bangabazar.
In a statement, BNP Secretary General said, ‘I am deeply concerned about the massive fire in Dhaka’s Bangabazar. I express my deepest condolences to the affected businessmen and shopkeepers who lost money invested in shop business before Eid. There has been no proper investigation or specific remedy for all such incidents in the past. People’s lives have no value during this government. Even if such incidents happen one after another, the government is not able to prevent them.
He said, ‘The incident of fire in Bangabazar is mysterious. Due to the indifference, indifference and lack of accountability of the present ruling class, the repetition of such heartbreaking incidents is happening again and again – which cannot be desirable in any way.’
Fakhrul demanded a fair and impartial investigation into all the fires, including the Bangabazar fire. At the same time, he urged the government to compensate the affected businessmen.
