A young man was crushed to death by the wheels of a tractor engaged in road filling in Companiganj upazila of Sylhet. His name is Ashiq Ali (22). He is the son of Attar Ali of Morargaon village in South Ronikhai Union. The accident took place on Monday (April 3) at 11 pm on Morargaon road.

According to local sources, the tractor engaged in soil filling went out of line from the road at 11 pm. A few people including Ashiq Ali tried to push the tractor on the road. At that time the driver could not control the tractor as the brake did not work. As the ash is in front of the tractor’s large wheels, the wheel bar gets between the wheels and the engine. Later, when the fire service was informed, they reached the spot and recovered Ashiq Ali’s dead body.

South Ronikhai Union Chairman Iqbal Hossain Imad said that the body was recovered by the fire service at night. Later the body was sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Hospital for post-mortem report. After postmortem, the body was taken to his village. Burial will be after Asr prayer. He also said that 10,000 taka has been given for his burial shroud immediately.
