International Tea Community Language and Culture Festival held at Kamalganj

International Tea Community Language and Culture Festival-2023 has been held for the first time in order to preserve and develop the language and culture of tea plantations in Kamalganj, Moulvibazar.

The festival started with the hoisting of national flags and flying of pigeons in the presence of guests from Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Nigeria in the presence of guests from Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Nigeria.

Later, under the chairmanship of Sitaram Bean, the editor of Masik Cha Mazdoor, who coordinated the festival, Mohan Ravi Das, the youth leader of tea workers, was present as the chief guest. The music artist of Mumbai, India spoke at this time. Rajesh Baithe, Professor Binta Abdullahi of the Islamic University of Nigeria, professor and researcher in the language and culture department of various universities in Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Nigeria, national poet-literary, cultural personality.

In the afternoon, a cultural program was held by the people of various languages of the tea community.

Speakers at the festival demanded the government to gazette all the tea communities living in the tea estates as minor ethnic groups, to establish “Tea Workers Culture Academy” for proper preservation and development of the language and culture of the tea estates and to introduce primary education in the mother tongue of the tea estates.
