Those dreaming of an unelected government will come out of that nightmare: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Please come out of the nightmare of those who are dreaming of an unelected government. It will not happen again in life. And those who want to go to power, come and vote. Whoever the people accept will go to power. Awami League will never interfere here.
Parliament leader Sheikh Hasina said these things in the closing speech of the 21st session of the current 11th National Parliament today Thursday.
The Prime Minister said that the country is developing because the democratic process is continuing and there is a continuous government for 14 years. People are benefiting.
He said, some people of this country went abroad and complained. It spoils the image of the country. Nothing is happening in this country. But today recognized at the international level – Bangladesh is the role model of development.
Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Change is not visible to them. Now they want to bring unelected government. We have seen business and development destroyed under unelected governments. Production has been disrupted. It was a terrible situation. People all over the country are in panic. Do you want to take the people of this country into fear? Do you want to play with the fate of the people of this country again?’
Those who want an unelected government look at personal interests, the Prime Minister said, ‘People should be careful about them. Be alert. They want to create chaos in my country by taking money from others out of greed. I have faith and trust in the people of my country. The people of Bangladesh have got a stability in their life today, surely they will not let it be destroyed. It won’t get water now.’
He said, ‘I will tell those who want to come to power in the name of an unelected government – do politics, go to the people, take people’s votes, get elected and come to power. No objection. The people who vote for them will come to the government. We have proved that the elections are free, fair and impartial.
