4 smugglers arrested with shipment of Indian cloth
Police arrested four smugglers in Sunamganj’s Dharmapasha along with consignments of duty-free Indian cloth and cosmetics.
On Sunday (January 22), those arrested were sent to the district jail through the preliminary court.
The arrested are Suzanur Rahman son of Abdul Kudduch of Panor village of Mohanganj upazila of Netrokona district, Sadekuzzaman Russell son of Rehan Uddin of Gajdhar village, Taimur Reza son of Sultan Ahmed of Mahdipur village of Dharmapasha upazila of Sunamganj, Sohel Rana son of deceased Sadat Ali of Tan Meuhari village.
Sunamganj district police media cell confirmed the information on Sunday night. According to the media cell, on Saturday night, on the way to Mohganj in Netrekona, the consignment of Indian Than cloth and mehndi (cosmetics) was loaded on a pick-up truck by Dharmapasha Thana Police from Anand Mor. At this time, four smugglers were arrested. 3 thousand meters (10 sacks) of georgette cloth, 18 thousand tees (25 cartons) of henna were seized from the custody of the arrested. The estimated value of seized goods is around 5 lakh 75 thousand taka.
